Discrimination impacts mental health in terrible, terrible ways.

When society denies them their deep-seated need to marry, it only makes them part citizen. The result is diminished hope, diminished dreams and diminished abilities to imagine a future of success.

What I have come to understand from our study is that there is a double problem.

On one hand there is no association between mental illness and homosexuality. On the other hand, we also know that gays and lesbians have higher levels of stress problems.
